Jackie and Patrick

Pre-flower arranging. I love having buckets of flowers in my tiny old apartment.
The process of collaring the centerpieces and cutting the oranges. The pumpkins are in the background.
The first arrangement that fell apart.
Centerpieces and guest table vase

I made a large swag of artificial flowers that is on the right side here. This was originally supposed to go on top of an arch that they were going to stand under.

The large arrangement take 2. This picture does not do it justice! It was really gorgeous.
Gerbs by the ice cream mix-ins. She had Coldstone cater her reception and I got to take a lot of ice cream home! Sweet!
Guest table vase which ended up on the dining room table
This weekend was the wedding of Jackie and Patrick Nord. It was really fun because the colors and flowers I used were so beautiful and new for me. For orange, I used gerbera daisies, roses, coxcomb, and berries. For white I used lisianthus, freesia (which smelled so good!), stock, and mini gerbera daisies. I used pittosporum for greenery and fern curls and curly willow for brown. She wanted orange slices in the vases and it just turned out exactly as I pictured it. However, there were a couple of problems I ran into with this wedding: First, the large arrangement that I made on Friday night started falling apart on Saturday...the foam was splitting and not holding at all. I think I crammed too many flowers in there! So I quickly re-did it and it turned out a little smaller than planned, but I did not want to deal with the same problem all over again. Also I think my technique was a lot better on the second one. There's a picture of the first one, but the second one is the one you see at the wedding. This little drawback caused me to run late to the wedding which was in Sandy. So I didn't get there as early as I wanted and I was still setting up when the guests started arriving. The third problem was that the weather was cold and wet so we couldn't have it outside as originally planned so the reception turned out quite differently than I was imagining. However, they loved the flowers still and it turned out really cute. I also carved and drilled some white pumpkins for lanterns that lined the walkway which we connected with leaf garland. I really liked the decorations of this wedding and Jackie was one of my favorite clients this far because she was so happy, nice, and appreciative. Hopefully more pictures will be forthcoming but I am not sure because there wasn't an official photographer at the reception. There was this girl I met that had a nice camera and was taking a lot of pictures. I gave her my email address so hopefully she'll send me her pictures!

Natalie and Jace

Natalie's wedding was definitely the smoothest wedding I've ever done. It was crazy busy because I am in the middle of school and I also had a test today. But it's nice to know that each wedding gets a little bit easier and I learn so much from each one. Natalie chose silver and burgundy for her colors and it really turned out very classy and elegant. I loved the silver ribbon especially. I used red and white roses, hypericum berries, waxflower, and Italian ruscus. Natalie's wedding was at the Alpine Art Center, which I've never been to before and it was a really nice place for a wedding. She'll get me more pictures in a little while, after she gets them from her photographer. These photos are my own, and my camera definitely does not do the flowers justice.
